Afiyet is operated by THINKLYZE LTD. ŞTİ.. This policy explains what data we process and why, who we share it with, and your rights. You can write to us with questions at info@thinklyze.com.
Data controller
Your personal data is processed by THINKLYZE LTD. ŞTİ. as the data controller under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data. Address: Istanbul. Contact: info@thinklyze.com.
Data we collect
• Account: your email address, name, username and profile photo (if you sign in with Google or Apple, the name, email and photo that service passes to us).
• Your recipes: the recipes you save and edit, the photos and videos you add, your notes.
• Imports: the links, texts and photos you share so we can extract a recipe.
• Planning: your weekly plan, your shopping list, and your answers during setup (for example how many people you cook for).
• Pantry: the names of the ingredients you mark as at home.
• Social: your recipe friends, the recipes you send and receive, your comments on published recipes, the recipes and comments you like, the creators you follow, the people you block and the reports you send.
• Creators: application details (bio, Instagram/TikTok/YouTube usernames), published recipes and their view, save and cook counts; stories, which stay live for 24 hours, and who watched a story (the creator only sees the view count).
• Usage: published recipes you open, what you see in Discover, save, cook, add to your plan or shopping list, mark “not interested” or hide, and the interests you chose during setup.
• Notifications: if you allow them, your device’s notification token (push token) and the notifications you receive (for example when a recipe is sent to you). You can turn notifications off in your device’s Settings at any time.
• Premium: your subscription plan, its status, renewal date and the transaction details the store provides. Your payment and card details stay with Apple or Google and never reach us.
• Diagnostics: the error record created when the app crashes or fails, your device model, operating system and app version, and which screen you were on. These records are linked to your account ID; your recipes, comments and email are not attached to them.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect your location, contacts or advertising ID. There are no ads in the app; we do not track you across other apps and sites, and we do not sell your data. If you turn on voice commands in cooking mode or adding to the pantry by voice, the microphone only works while it is on; what you say is turned into a command on your device (or, if your device does not support it, in Apple’s or Google’s speech recognition service), and it is not recorded or sent to us.
Why we use your data
To open and protect your account, keep your recipes across your devices, extract recipes with AI, prepare the planner and shopping list, let you share recipes with friends and let creators publish, rank content that suits you in Discover, show creators the totals for their own posts, send you notifications, prevent abuse and answer support requests. To apply the free plan and fair-use limits, we keep counts of the recipes you import, the nutrition facts you look at and the plans you create; when you contact support, our administrators can see a usage summary of your account and grant extra allowance. This information is not used for advertising or tracking.
Legal bases for processing
• Opening your account, storing your recipes, running the planner and shopping list, providing Premium and importing recipes: necessary for the formation and performance of a contract (KVKK art. 5/2-c).
• Ranking content that suits you in Discover, showing creators their totals, fixing the app with error records and preventing abuse: our legitimate interest (art. 5/2-f). These are done only with totals and your account ID and do not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms.
• Sending notifications: your explicit consent. You can withdraw it in your device’s Settings at any time.
• Meeting our legal obligations and reviewing reports: legal obligation and the establishment, exercise or protection of a right (art. 5/2-a, 5/2-e).
Use of AI
When you import a recipe, only the link, text or photos you shared for that recipe are sent to the Google (Gemini) and Anthropic (Claude) AI services to extract the recipe. For Instagram and TikTok posts without a recipe in the caption, the post’s public video is fetched through Apify and given to Gemini only to extract the recipe, and is deleted when the process ends. Your name, email or other recipes are not sent to these services. When you choose “Calculate nutrition facts”, that recipe’s ingredients are sent to Google (Gemini); when you choose “Plan my week”, the names, categories, times and main ingredients of your recipes and the note you wrote are sent to Google (Gemini). These requests are made only when you start them. These services operate under business terms that do not use the content we send to train their own models.
Service providers that process data
• Supabase: database, file storage and sign-in.
• Google and Anthropic: extracting recipes with AI; Google also calculates nutrition facts and suggests weekly plans.
• Apify: fetching the public video of Instagram and TikTok posts to extract recipes.
• Mux: storing and playing videos uploaded by creators.
• Cloudflare: backing up photos and videos against possible loss.
• RevenueCat: verifying and managing Premium subscriptions.
• Sentry: finding and fixing the app’s problems through error and crash records.
• Google and Apple: authentication if you choose to sign in with these services.
These providers’ servers may be located outside Turkey; data is transferred only to provide these services, in line with article 9 of the Law and protected by contract. You can write to info@thinklyze.com for information on this.
Who sees what
The recipes you save, your plan and your list belong to you alone. Your recipe friends see your name, username and profile photo; they only receive the recipes you send them. Recipes published by approved creators, their profile details and statistics totals are public. Creators only see the totals for their own posts (views, people reached, saves, likes, comments, followers and viewing hours); they cannot see which person looked at what. Recipes you save personally are never published automatically.
Retention and account deletion
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time with Profile → “Delete my account”; your recipes, photos, videos, plans, lists and posts are permanently deleted. Copies that others saved to their own cookbooks earlier stay in their accounts. Backups of your photos and videos are deleted with the same action. Error records are kept for our provider’s own retention period. We keep report and moderation records for as long as needed to meet our legal obligations and protect our rights. We delete your notification token when you sign out.
Your rights
Under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data, you have the right to access your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to its processing and find out where it has been transferred. You can send your requests to info@thinklyze.com; we reply within 30 days at the latest.
Children
Afiyet is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children of this age.
Changes
When we update this policy we renew its date; we announce important changes in the app.
